Moved to Farset International Hostel

As mentioned, I love my host Kelly Colbert, but she lives in Mossley West, which involves a two hour commute to get to the Farset where we hold our meetings, and which is only a five-minute walk to my work placement at Forthspring. Buses here run very sporadically in the evenings and not at all on Sundays. And since Kelly was going to a conference all week and I would be left to fend for myself with no shops or markets nearby, the Global Xchange supervisors were able to move me to the Farset Hostel, thanks to our Sierra Leonian teammate Mohammad who agreed to give up his room to move in with his fellow countryman Suliaman at his host home.

It’s been wonderful staying here. I have a beautiful view of the river with wild geese, ducks and magnificent swans. Since my room is newly renovated, there’s a flat screen TV and all of the comforts of home. Best of all, I’m only five minutes from my work placement, which is ideal since there are no buses at night and I can just walk home. It’s also more fun having some of the other team members around to share experiences and travel to town together. Following are some photos of my new digs.
